Arete Scholars uses donations submitted through Georgia's tax credit scholarship program to provide need-based K-12 scholarships to children in low-income families. The scholarships can be used at the parent’s K-12 school of choice, allowing them to place their child in schools that best suit their unique gifts and learning needs and align with their family’s values.
Under Georgia's Qualified Education Expense Credit, any company or individual that pays Georgia income tax is eligible to receive a dollar-for-dollar tax credit for approved donations to Arete Scholars.
C-corporations may receive up to a 75% credit for their entire Georgia income tax liability.
Individual owners of S-corporations, LLCs, and partnerships may receive up to $25,000 annually in exchange for a 100% tax credit.
Insurance companies may receive a tax credit for 75% of their Georgia insurance premium tax liability or $1 million, whichever is less.
