A VIP Day to Remember: Arete Scholars Experience Atlanta Falcons Training Camp

For six Arete Scholar families, a day at Atlanta Falcons Training Camp became more than a chance to watch football—it was an opportunity to make memories, build connections, and experience what it means to be treated like a VIP.

Arete Scholars recently welcomed 18 guests, including 11 students from six Atlanta-area partner schools, to an exclusive VIP Training Camp experience with the Atlanta Falcons. Representing students from kindergarten through 10th grade, the families enjoyed a full day of football, fun, and special moments they will remember for years to come.

The day began with a Chick-fil-A catered breakfast and Falcons-themed goodie bags filled with memorabilia, floppy hats, and posters. Families also participated in a Falcons Bingo game, with one lucky scholar winning an official Falcons football—perfect for collecting autographs later in the day.

After breakfast and games, families watched the Falcons take the field for team drills and scrimmages. But the excitement continued after practice, when players came over to the exclusive VIP area to meet with Arete Scholar families.

Players including Bijan Robinson, A.J. Terrell Jr., and Michael Penix Jr. generously spent time signing autographs, posing for photos, and talking with the scholars. For many of the students, getting to meet professional football players up close was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

The day also provided a meaningful opportunity for an Arete alumnus. Christopher Daniel, a 2026 Cristo Rey graduate, joined the families before heading to Marquette University later this month to study Sports Communications. Christopher connected with Greg Beadles, who also introduced him to Steven Drummond, the Falcons' Senior Vice President of Communications. The connection was especially meaningful as Christopher prepares to pursue a career in the sports industry.

While the football and player interactions were highlights, the experience ultimately meant something even greater to the families.

As one Arete Scholar dad shared while leaving the event:

“I knew this was going to be a fun event, but I never expected it to be this elite and special. Definitely a VIP experience with memories that will last a lifetime!”

His words captured what made the day so special. The experience gave students the chance to step outside their everyday routines, dream a little bigger, and see themselves welcomed into spaces they may not otherwise have access to.
