As a member of the Army National Guard, she is not only building a career in electrical engineering but also modeling resilience and purpose for her young son, Jaxson. With the help of an Arete scholarship, Rachael has enrolled Jaxson at Hamilton Christian School, an institution known for its strong academics and faith-based community. There, Jaxson is thriving, receiving personalized attention and a moral foundation that echoes his mother’s values. Together, they embody the transformative power of dedication and opportunity.

From Oppression to Opportunity: A Mother's Faith Fuels Her Son's FutureGelayol’s journey is one of faith, courage, and a series of miracles that brought her family from oppression in Iran to freedom in the United States. After escaping religious persecution and years as refugees in Turkey, Gelayol and her family resettled in Georgia, where they discovered the transformative power of education through an Arete scholarship. Now, her son Samuel is thriving at Solid Foundation Christian Academy, a faith-based school that provides him with the education and opportunities Gelayol always dreamed of. For Gelayol, raising Samuel is her life’s purpose—and with Arete’s support, she believes his future is as bright as the faith that has carried them through.
