Arete Employee Spotlight: Building Community with Passion and Purpose

This year, we are thrilled to focus on celebrating our incredible team. Each month, we’ll shine a spotlight on one outstanding team member, sharing their inspiring story and the meaningful impact they make in our community.

Meet Shelley! Shelley is Arete’s vibrant and dedicated Community Engagement Director. She is passionate about bringing people together through meaningful events and initiatives. She builds heartfelt connections with Arete families, creating the foundation for our strong and supportive community.

Since joining Arete in July 2023, Shelley has loved meeting families and hearing their inspiring stories of perseverance, purpose, and vision for their children’s futures.

Shelley is a graduate of George Fox University and holds a BS in Physical Education, History, and Health. She and her husband, Steve, have been married for 39 years. Shelley is the proud mom of four children and grandma to five grandchildren, with one more on the way!

When Shelley’s not working, you’ll find her exploring the great outdoors. This past summer, she conquered five 14ers (mountains over 14,000 ft) in Colorado! She also loves to travel and spend time with her family.

We’re so grateful to have Shelley on our team. Her energy and warmth light up Arete every day!
