Arete team grows in Louisiana

“Organizations grow when they persuade a tiny cadre to be passionate, not when they touch millions with a mediocre message.” So writes serial entrepreneur, author, and marketing guru Seth Godin.

We don’t know Godin, but he could’ve had Arete in mind when he penned those words. Our mission — to help marginalized children discover their gifts and flourish through educational freedom — sparks a passionate collection of families, schools, supporters, and advocates. That cadre is growing with the addition of Andrew Martin to the team of Arete Scholars Louisiana.

Andrew joins Arete Scholars as Development Director, helping expand our base of financial supporters and ambassadors throughout Louisiana, Georgia, and the nation. Prior to joining Arete, Andrew led development for another scholarship organization in Louisiana. He began his professional career in the oil and gas industry all along the Gulf Coast.

Andrew's strong commitment to Arete's mission comes from having both witnessed and appreciated the many sacrifices his parents made to ensure that both he and his sister were provided the best educational opportunities growing up. He hopes now to help empower underserved families with the same choices for their own children.

A native of southeast Louisiana and a graduate of Mississippi State University, Andrew believes passionately in educational freedom and parental choice for all and looks forward to carrying out Arete's mission across the Bayou State. We're excited to have him.
