Celebrating a Decade of Impact in Louisiana

The 2023-24 school year marks a significant milestone for Arete Scholars as it proudly celebrates its 10th anniversary in Louisiana and a record number of scholarships.  

In the fall of 2013, Arete Scholars became Louisiana's first K-12 School Tuition Organization (STO) dedicated to serving economically disadvantaged children. Starting with only a handful of students across the state, Arete Scholars has flourished over the last ten years, reaching new heights this school year by sending nearly 1,500 Louisiana children to life-changing schools—a record for Arete Louisiana. 

From its modest beginnings, Arete Scholars has grown to become a driving force in the success of Louisiana's Tuition Donation Credit Program (TDC), positively influencing the lives of thousands of Louisiana children. This achievement is a testament to Arete's vision–to see every child reach their greatest, God-given potential. 

Over the years, the generosity of donors has fueled significant growth in Louisiana. This school year, Arete Scholars proudly announces a staggering 58% increase in Louisiana scholarships over last year, a clear indication of the sustained impact and demand for K-12 scholarship programs. Additionally, Arete is adding new services to strengthen the organization's commitment to expanding its reach and impact–including free ACT and SAT prep, leadership workshops, and once-in-a-lifetime student events hosted by dedicated partners.

As the community celebrates a decade of transforming Louisiana lives through education, Arete Scholars expresses deep gratitude to its team members, donors, and school partners who have played pivotal roles in this journey. The organization looks forward to continued growth, impact, and empowering even more students to pursue their educational dreams in the years to come.
