Win a Pair of Limited Edition Custom Arete Vans

Arete Scholars proudly presents our "Walk A Mile in My Shoes" contest. This is an opportunity for Arete students to share their unique journeys and perspectives. Participants are invited to submit a 1 to 3-page essay or a two-minute video detailing their personal experiences, challenges, successes, and aspirations.

In this contest, students are encouraged to reflect on their individual paths, exploring the hurdles they've overcome, the triumphs they've achieved, and the defining moments that have shaped their character. Whether it's navigating personal adversities, excelling academically, or contributing to their communities, entrants are invited to delve into the intricacies of their own narratives.

Through their submissions, contestants have the chance to articulate the steps they've taken to evolve into the individuals they are today, as well as their aspirations for the future. Whether it's through resilience, determination, or unwavering dedication to their goals, participants are encouraged to showcase their journey toward personal growth and self-realization.

As a reward for their courage and introspection, two contest winners will receive a coveted prize: a pair of limited edition custom Arete Scholars Vans sneakers.* These exclusive sneakers not only symbolize the winner's achievements but also serve as a reminder of their remarkable journey and the support they've received from the Arete Scholars community.

How to Enter:

·      Write a 1 to 3 page essay (or two minute video) describing what it’s like to be you. What are your challenges? What are your successes? What have you done to become the person you are today, and what are you doing to become the person you want to be?

·      Complete the form below to submit your written essay or video link by March 15, 2024.

*Rules/Eligibility:

·      To be eligible, contestants must be in grades 6-12 at an Arete Scholars partner school and currently on an Arete Scholars scholarship.

·      One submission per student

·      Essay must be between 1-3 written pages. Videos must be at least 2 minutes in duration.

·      All submissions must be received by March 15, 2024

·      Winners will be notified by April 5, 2024

·      Shoes will be custom made by Arete for the winners and will take 4-6 weeks to receive.
